Steven Curtis Chapman - The Glorious Unfolding
Steven Curtis Chapman had a great single in 2011 with "Do Everything", but as much as I loved the musicality of the songs on "Deep Roots" and the Christmas tunes from "JOY", and the stripped down sound of "Beauty Will Rise", I was waiting for a real, full followup "pop" album to "This Moment" that was released way back in 2007. "The Glorious Unfolding" is finally the long awaited album I desired, and the lead single "Love Take Me Over" is indicative of its sound. This is his highest energy album since "Declaration" way back in 2001 (has it really been 12 years?) I thought "This Moment" was good, but "The Glorious Unfolding" might be better. I do prefer the first half of the album better than the slower, second half, but that includes some softer gems as well.
