Someone is fooling with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_124\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> I don\u2019t know. Let\u2019s ask the Informatron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_126\"><strong>Josh (speaking aloud to the sky):<\/strong> Informatron, who is Jesus and where does he live?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_128\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> Jesus is the Son of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_130\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> OMG! (Oh my God!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_132\"><em>Text tone<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_134\"><strong>(Ashlee read her text message):<\/strong> Yes! That\u2019s right. I am your God and Savior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_136\"><strong>Josh (a little shaky and looking around in the sky):<\/strong> What do you want from us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_138\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> I will send you a hologram of Simon the Zealot to tell you about Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_140\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Who is Simon and what is a Zealot?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_142\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> Simon was one of Jesus\u2019 disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_144\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> And a Zealot?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_146\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> A Zealot, back in Jesus\u2019 time, was a Jew who wanted to overthrow the Roman government and have a Jewish king.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_148\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> How long ago was this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_150\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> Over 2,000 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_152\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> So why did this Simon dude want to be Jesus\u2019 disciple?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_154\"><strong>Informatron:<\/strong> Maybe he thought that Jesus would be that Jewish king who would overthrow the Roman government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_156\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Ok. Let\u2019s see the hologram of this Simon dude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_158\"><em>(Cut the lights, have Simon pop out, then flip the lights back on.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_160\"><strong>Simon:<\/strong> Greetings. I am Simon the Zealot. You can just call me Simon Z. Don\u2019t confuse me with that other Simon, Simon Peter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_162\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Cut to the chase, Simon. Tell us who Jesus was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_164\"><strong>Simon:<\/strong> We called him Rabbi because he taught us how to live. He was perfect. He healed the sick and raised the dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_166\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> This is kind of scary. Only God can do those kinds of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_168\"><strong>Simon:<\/strong> You\u2019re getting ahead of me. People regarded Jesus as a leader. Someone who could become the king of Israel. As a zealot, I hoped that we would rebel against the Romans and that Jesus would indeed become king of the Jews. But that\u2019s not what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_170\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> So what happened?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_172\"><strong>Simon:<\/strong> The people who had power in the church and the government were afraid of Jesus because the people admired and followed him. They ended up crucifying him to keep him from becoming king. One of his own disciples, Judas, actually betrayed Him to the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_174\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> But you said he was a teacher, not a rebel. He sounds like a kind person who did a lot of good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_176\"><strong>Simon:<\/strong> We disciples didn\u2019t fully understand him at the time. We wanted to fight the Roman soldiers when they came for Him, but He wouldn\u2019t let us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_178\"><em>(lights go out and Simon disappears, then lights turn back on)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_180\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> He\u2019s gone. I had a lot more questions to ask him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_182\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Me too. But we\u2019ve got to do something, Josh. What happened to Jesus wasn\u2019t fair. He wasn\u2019t trying to overthrow the Roman government. He was helping people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_184\"><em>Play CD \u201cThe Real Jesus\u201d chorus (1:54 to 2:15)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_188\"><strong>Scene 3<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_190\"><em>(Dudes and chicks are all on stage listening to Josh and Ashlee telling them what they have learned.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_192\"><strong>Josh: <\/strong>We\u2019ve got to do something to change this story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_194\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Yes, we have to save Jesus. Does anyone have any ideas?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_196\"><strong>Rachel (sighing and shaking her head sadly):<\/strong> If only we could change what happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_198\"><strong>Alex:<\/strong> I know what we could do!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_200\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> What?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_202\"><strong>Alex:<\/strong> We could go back through the hyperlink and tell the officials and the disciples what happened and try to help them see that Jesus was the Son of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_204\"><strong>Everyone:<\/strong> Yeah! (<em>general excited talking to each other about it<\/em>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_206\"><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> The hyperlink can only transport one person round trip. Who should we send?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_208\"><strong>Josh (in a macho overconfident way)<\/strong>: I volunteer to go. Jesus texted me directly, so I think He might want me to handle it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_210\"><strong>Ashlee (also confident):<\/strong> He spoke to me too, Josh. I\u2019m going with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_212\"><strong>Alex:<\/strong> What if you can\u2019t get back? The hyperlink has never sent a second person without bringing back the first person first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_214\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> Ashlee, don\u2019t risk it. Let me go alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_216\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Not on your life, Josh. We\u2019re both going.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_220\"><strong>Scene 4<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_222\">(<em>The dudes and chicks all watch as Ashlee and Josh step into the side room to be sent by hyperlink over 2000 years back in time. Alex pretends to be at the controls at the podium.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_224\"><strong>Alex:<\/strong> Josh, I\u2019m sending you first, on the count of 3. Prepare to link. 1, 2, 3, link. Ashlee, now it\u2019s your turn. 1, 2, 3, link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_226\"><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> Did they both go ok?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_228\"><strong>Alex:<\/strong> They were definitely both transported. The real question is whether or not they will be able to return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_230\"><strong>Rachel:<\/strong> Let\u2019s hope so!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_232\"><em>Play CD \u201cBack in Time\u201d by Huey Lewis (1:32 to 1:56)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_236\"><strong>Scene 5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_238\"><em>(Josh and Ashlee step out of the side room and witness Jesus talking to a bleeding woman.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_240\"><strong>Bleeding Woman (coming up behind Jesus and reaching out to touch the edge of his cloak):<\/strong> If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_242\"><strong>Jesus (turning and looking at her with compassion)<\/strong>: Take heart, daughter. Your faith has healed you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_244\"><strong>Josh(rushing toward Jesus, but not getting all the way there)<\/strong>: Jesus!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_246\">(<em>Jesus does not react, as if he doesn\u2019t know they are there<\/em>.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_248\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> Josh, He didn\u2019t hear you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_250\"><strong>Josh (louder):<\/strong> Jesus!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_252\"><strong>Ashlee (woefully):<\/strong> It\u2019s like we\u2019re not really here. The hyperlink must not have worked properly since we both came! Now how will we save Jesus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_254\"><strong>Josh (woefully):<\/strong> We have to keep trying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_256\"><em>(Jesus walks to the middle of the stage where other disciples are sitting for the last supper. Josh and Ashlee follow at a distance to watch. They stand below the stage, to the side so as not to block the audience\u2019s view.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_258\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> I tell you the truth. One of you will betray me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_260\"><strong>Disciples, one at a time, except Judas:<\/strong> Surely not I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_262\"><strong>Judas:<\/strong> Surely not I, Rabbi?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_264\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> Yes, it is you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_266\"><em>(Judas runs out.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_268\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> We have to stop him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_270\"><em>(Josh runs over to block Judas, but Judas slides right past him.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_272\"><strong>Josh:<\/strong> I couldn\u2019t stop him! He just slid right past me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_274\"><strong>Ashlee:<\/strong> There has to be something we can do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_276\"><em>Play CD \u201cThe Real Jesus\u201d verse 2 and chorus (1:54 to 2:15)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_280\"><strong>Scene 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_282\"><em>(Jesus stands before Pilate, with the crowd looking on. Off to the side, Josh and Ashlee watch.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_284\"><strong>Pilate:<\/strong> Are you the king of the Jews?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_286\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> Yes, it is as you say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_288\"><strong>Pilate:<\/strong> It is my custom at the upcoming feast to release one prisoner. (addressing the crowd) Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, a notorious prisoner, or Jesus who is called Christ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_290\"><strong>Crowd (yelling in unison):<\/strong> Barabbas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_292\"><strong>Pilate:<\/strong> What shall I do with Jesus?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_294\"><strong>Crowd:<\/strong> Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Crucify Him!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_296\"><strong>Pilate:<\/strong> I am innocent of this man\u2019s blood. He is your responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_298\"><em>(Jesus is handed over to the crowd to be crucified.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_300\"><em>(Two from the crowd escort Jesus to an imaginary cross. Jesus poses as if he is on the cross.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_302\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_304\"><em>(Joseph of Arimathea takes Jesus from the cross and puts him in his tomb, which is the room on the side.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_306\"><em>(The women cry outside the tomb, then walk away.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_308\"><em>Play CD \u201cThe Real Jesus\u201d bridge to song (2:15 to 2:35)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_312\"><strong>Scene 7<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_314\"><em>(3 days later, written on powerpoint)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_316\"><em>(The women return to the tomb and find the door open. One goes in, then comes back out quickly. Again, Josh and Ashlee watch from nearby.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_318\"><strong>Mary:<\/strong> He is gone! There was an angel inside who said to tell His disciples that He has risen!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_320\"><em>(The women run to tell the disciples, who are in the back of the sanctuary. Then the disciples and women run back to the tomb.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_322\"><em>(Jesus appears outside of the tomb.)`<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_324\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> Do not be afraid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_326\"><em>(Many other come to see Jesus. Thomas comes and feels his hands.)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_328\"><strong>Jesus:<\/strong> This is what I told you while I was still with you. Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms. The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Now, go out into the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"h.p_ID_330\"><em>(Jesus lifts his hands and blesses them, and is taken up into heaven. All the people go out into the sanctuary to tell the good news.
