Back in 2010 I found some numbers online
that showed how both household income
and net worth have gone down from 2001 to 2010. Even though these numbers are now old, they are still
illustrative for the change in net worth over that time period. Visit my
2020 version for newer numbers.
One weird thing I noticed
was that the percentile ranges for income (20, 40, 60, 80, 90) were different
than the ones for net worth (25, 50, 75, 90), so I made a calculator where
you can enter your income and worth for both years, and I will interpolate to
see how your percentile has changed.
Yes, I still realize that the interpolation should not really be linear,
but hey, I am still just doing this
for fun!
