From the 2020 census I have the percentile numbers for US household income and net worth. See how you are in both criteria. Ideally your net worth percentile is higher than your income percentile, especially as you get older and should be accumulating more wealth. I also just read that middle-class is considered 20th to 80th percentile, so I included if both your income and net worth puts you in the lower, middle or upper-class status. Interestingly, the "updated" calculator gives a higher percentile for us in 2024 than this one does for 2020 which seems odd. |
